Seasons

• Outdoor soccer: Fall (Early September to Mid November)

• Indoor soccer: Winter (January to Early March)

Tryouts

• Outdoor: None

• Indoor: Depending on the number of children who register, tryouts may be necessary.

Teams

• Outdoor:

  • Kindergarten: Demarest only, co-ed clinic on Saturday mornings

  • 1st/2nd grade: Several Demarest-only & Haworth-only teams play an intra-league schedule

  • 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, 7th-8th grade: NVSL

  • U10 and U12 Co-ed select team participate in NVSL "World Cup" tournament typically held on Fridays evenings

  • Girls games are on Saturdays, Boys games are on Sundays
     

• Indoor:

  • K-2nd grade: No programs.

  • 3rd-8th grade: PVISL

  • Division 3-7th and 8th Grade (U14)

  • Division 4-5th and 6th Grade (U12)

  • Division 5-3rd and 4th Grade (U10)

  • The DAA enters a single team at each division (age group) for both boys and girls.

 

Participating towns

• Outdoor Soccer: NVSL (Northern Valley Soccer League) is comprised of 8 towns from the surrounding Northern Valley.
   

• Indoor Soccer: PVISL (Pascack Valley Indoor Soccer League) is comprised of 25 towns and upwards of 150 teams.
   

• Demarest develops its own teams for participation

COVID-19

Currently the DAA and our league plan to conduct the fall season as in years past.  We are working closely with our league, the other town commissioners and will adhere to all governmental edicts regarding the operation of youth sports.  Accordingly, there is a chance the fall season (i) may not happen at all if the Governor issues an order prohibiting us from doing so; or (ii) have a delayed start in order to comply with any order issued by the Governor.

Our goal is to provide a full season if possible or an abridged season if that is all that is permitted - all subject to ensuring the health and safety of our children and volunteers.

If the season is cancelled we will refund all registration fees.

That being said, it remains very important that you timely register your children so we can be ready to hit the ground running as soon as we are able to launch the season.
